01

Reconstruct your first list

Open your photo library, old calendars and booking emails. Make a rough list by trip, then group the places by country. The first pass does not need to be perfect. You can add forgotten trips later.

02

Choose a consistent counting rule

Decide what a visit means to you. Some travelers count a place after leaving the airport; others count an overnight stay. Transit stops can go in a separate list. Consistency makes your own progress easier to understand.

03

Go beyond a country total

A country count is a starting point. Add the cities, neighborhoods and landmarks that made the visit memorable. A weekend in Rome and a month across Italy can share a country entry while telling very different stories.

04

Keep the map up to date

After each trip, set aside a few minutes to add new places while the details are fresh. Keep a backup of important memories and review what information you want to share before posting a map publicly.
