Landmarks 4

Must-see · 4

  1. 1

    Labuan War Cemetery

The most moving sight in Labuan, a beautifully kept Commonwealth cemetery honouring thousands of soldiers who died in Borneo during World War II. It is a place for quiet reflection, so dress respectfully and go in the cooler morning hours; it is a short taxi ride from the town centre.

  2. 2

    Labuan Marine Park

A group of protected islands with clear water, coral reefs and good snorkelling, the main reason many visitors come to Labuan. Boats leave from the town jetty and trips are best arranged in the dry season; bring sun protection and expect to pay for a boat charter or tour.

  3. 3

    Peace Park

A calm memorial park built as a symbol of reconciliation, with a large monument and views over the water. It pairs naturally with the War Cemetery on a half-day history circuit; visit early or late in the day to avoid the heat.

  4. 4

    Labuan Museum

A compact museum covering the island's history, culture and wartime past, useful for context before visiting the memorial sites. It is an easy stop in the town centre and a good option during rain or the midday heat.
